Job description

The Homes for Ukraine Scheme is a Department of Levelling up Communities and Housing (DLUHC) programme of work to ensure Ukrainian Nationals have a safe place live within the UK to enable them to be free and safe from the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.


We are seeking to appoint a Front Office Support Officer to join our busy team to ensure that both Ukrainian Guests and Sponsors are able to connect safely and work with them to enable a positive hosting relationship. The role requires a high level of attention to detail as you carry out tasks including;


  • To provide high quality business support as sponsors and guests go through the Homes for Ukraine requirements, ensuring service standards and customer requirements are met.
  • Contribute to the effective operation and development of the Homes for Ukraine service.
  • Be a first line of customer contact, dealing with and (where possible) resolving enquiries from customers. This includes enquiries from internal and external stakeholders, such as council clients/customers.
  • Take service requests from customers ensuring that their requirements are accurately recorded. Ensure that where appropriate self service is used.
  • Arrange and co-ordinate meetings and events between internal and external stakeholders (including the council’s clients/customers), ensuring that all necessary preparations have been made.
  • Handle customer/client enquiries and process incoming documents: such as applications, completed forms and notices.

About You


  • We are looking for a confident Front Office Support Officers, who also have the following:
  • Knowledge and understanding of the customers requirements’
  • Knowledge and experience using systems and process used by Business Support to support the customer
  • Good Numeracy and English Literacy skills
    Proficient in computer software skills e.g. word processing & spreadsheets.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to represent the work area and deal with customers
  • Able to demonstrate a good level of administrative and organisational skills
  • Experienced note and minute taker
  • Able to use information systems and databases to accurately record information and generate reports
  • Able to manage and prioritise own workload to meet service standards

Full time 36hrs Fixed term / secondment for up to 12 months
