Role Summary

Reporting to the DocuNet Development Manager, as a developer at Vistair you will be responsible for implementing user interface for new features as part of our product development roadmap, working in an Agile development environment.


The Frontend developer role works as an integral part of the DocuNet Development Team delivering high quality code and user interface in accordance with the departmental standards to satisfy product requirements. All team members are expected to contribute and drive continuous improvements to quality and efficiency of the department.


There will be a requirement for some time to be spent at the Bristol Office for team meetings and 1-1s with appropriate notice given, therefore you should live within driving distance of the Bristol office.


Role and Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and extending complex web-based applications
  • Transforming wireframes and specs of new features into functional and clean user interfaces
  • Using and maintaining existing user interface style guidelines and components
  • Creating new user interface components


Essential Skills

  • Excellent understanding of modern JavaScript, ES6 and above
  • Excellent understanding of HTML5 and CSS3
  • Excellent understanding of React, state management and asynchronous request handling
  • Good understanding of single-page applications
  • Good understanding of the Bootstrap CSS Framework
  • Good understanding of code versioning tool, Git
  • Basic understanding of TypeScript
  • Some experience of user interface design
  • Delivering software using Agile methods (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
  • Ability to analyse and maintain existing solutions
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of Software Development Lifecycles
  • Self-motivation and drive
  • Strong team working skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent analytical and organization skills
  • An ability to understand front-end users' requirements and a problem-solving attitude


Due to the sensitivity of data handled in some of our projects, it is desirable that you are UK SC Cleared or have the ability to attain it, however this is not essential.
