Job Summary

The Primary Education team at Palace For Life are looking for a highly motivated and experienced sports coach to lead on the delivery of PE in one of our Full Time partner Primary Schools. The successful applicant will be based 5 days a week in a local Primary school (currently based in Bromley), delivering PE lessons and extra-curricular clubs. There will also be opportunities to coach at our Player Development Centres. You will join a team of experienced and dedicated coaches, making a real impact on the lives of children in South London.

Job Description

As PE Coach you will:


  • Plan and deliver creative, active and engaging PE lessons and extra-curricular clubs to children aged 4-11;
  • Integrate yourself within both the Foundation and our partner schools;
  • Plan and deliver various 'PL Primary Stars' sessions including targeted intervention groups, classroom workshops, social action programmes and teacher PE support lessons;
  • Form positive relationships with all key partners involved in the programme including schools, teachers and parents;
  • Work collaboratively with the Primary Education team, fellow coaches and other Foundation staff to ensure smooth delivery and growth of our programmes;
  • Support with the collection of data for Premier League funding;
  • Work alongside the Foundation's Football Development team with opportunities to coach at Player Development Centres;
  • Deliver a minimum of 1 evening session per week;
  • Support at a variety of events throughout the year, including school tournaments and festivals, and holiday courses out of school term.


Job Requirements


As successful candidate you will:


  • Have experience coaching in a primary school environment, with a proven track record of achievement;
  • Hold a minimum Level 2 Coaching qualification in any sport;
  • Have sound sports development and/or school education knowledge;
  • Be able to empathise with and give support to participants who may not feel comfortable in learning or sports-related environments;
  • Be reliable, organised, flexible and willing to learn.
