I'm looking for a Functional Safety Engineer to join BAE Systems, working on the Dreadnought submarine programme.
This is a hybrid-working role of 4 days per month required onsite at any one of the following locations: Barrow-in-Furness, Manchester, Frimley, Filton, Farnborough, Portsmouth, Weymouth or Devonport.
You MUST be eligible for SC Clearance to be considered for this role.
What you'll be doing:
Safety Management System development and maintenance/process updates
Production and maintenance of Safety Management Plans
Production and maintenance of Combat System Safety Engineering Analysis
Safety Requirements Management
Hazard Log Management
Design Safety Justifications (DSJ) and supporting safety deliverables production
Team Management - Monitoring progress
Following the programmatic schedule, and meeting milestones and resolving issues
Essential Skills:
Experience within a defence domain/background
Degree qualified or equivalent experience within Safety Engineering
Experience in managing a team
Desirable Skills:
Conversant and experienced in carrying out Functional Safety Analysis to open standards e.g., IEC 61508
Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership in a professional institution
Working to Defence Standards such as; Def-Stan 00-056 or Def-Stan 00-055
SSMO or SEMT qualified
This is a great role for an experienced Functional Safety Engineer that has worked for another Aerospace & Defence organisation previously.
The salary is 60-65,000 plus a 10% bonus and an excellent benefits package.
