Serco Skills and Training Services (STS) was formed in October 2023 to provide high quality government funded and commercial training solutions, and services to government departments, authorities, employers, and citizens.
The Functional Skills / Employability Tutor is responsible for the delivery of Functional Skills programmes, delivered by Serco Skills or in partnership with third party training providers and to ensure we meet regulatory and contractual obligations. The purpose of the role is the delivery of contextualised Functional skills and Employability skills for apprenticeship and AEB skills programmes including skills Bootcamps and Foundation learning. Functional Skills will be both accredited and non-regulated numeracy and English to support employability programmes, working with the Skills & apprenticeship coaches, curriculum development and Quality Team, to ensure programmes meet demand, and meet Ofsted, Contract and awarding body requirements
What I need to do the role?

Qualified to a minimum L4
-
Minimum L3 Award in Education and Training (or equivalent)
-
Experience of delivering both Functional Skills and Employability programmes
-
L3 Assessor Award (or equivalent)

Experience of designing and delivering education programmes in the adult education sector, including experience of working within a regulated quality environment (OFSTED, awarding bodies etc.)

Relevant industry experience in the education sector

This role requires an enhanced DBS covering pre-employment checks: · identity · employment history (minimum of 3 years) · nationality/immigration status · criminal records

This is a homebased role, some travel will be required for team meetings/training, and to meet with learners, alongside use of video conferencing and other virtual means.

You will usually be required to work 9.00-17.00 Monday
- Friday, but this may vary according to the needs of the business and delivery contract
