Role Overview

As a Functional Skills Trainer, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality English and maths provision to learners. You'll work closely with the delivery and quality coach team to ensure every participant progresses through their learning journey at the right pace. The detail bit:

  • Delivery and Assessment:
    Conduct initial and diagnostic assessments with learners.
    Design and implement individual learning plans aligned with assessment outcomes.
    Deliver Functional Skills qualifications following company guidelines and timescales.
  • Engagement and Support:
    Facilitate engaging individual and group sessions on employers' premises.
    Conduct virtual classroom sessions to enhance accessibility.
    Maintain accurate paperwork in compliance with company standards.
  • Performance Management:
    Ensure high learner retention rates through motivation and support.
    Consistently review and assess learner performance against targets and deadlines.
    Work with learners of varying abilities, providing tailored support as needed.
  • Compliance and Administration:
    Adhere to organisational and funding requirements for initial paperwork completion.
    Keep learner records up to date and provide timely reports to support management reporting and audit requirements.
  • Teaching and Learning:
    Model outstanding inclusive teaching practices.
    Support colleagues in improving their practice through evaluation and feedback.
    Keep abreast of teaching and learning strategies to effectively embed English and maths.
