Functional Skills Maths and English Tutor
Monday to Friday -9am to 5pm, Full Time
Remote based role
Working alongside the Functional skills lead as part of the Quality Team you will be required to teach, train, and assess Learners to achieve their Functional Skills in a timely manner, to the standards set by the Company, the Awarding Organisation, Ofsted and the ESFA.
To build professional relationships with your Learners, their Employers, the Vocational Tutors, External Partners and other staff and Directors of the Company.
The Pinciple areas of this role would be:
- Teach, assess, motivate, and advise Learners in line with the Company's Work Based Learning Procedures to ensure Learners achieve their Functional Skills by the agreed planned end date in the ILP.
- Liaise with the vocational Tutors to provide updates on learner progress and exam readiness
- Confidently plan and deliver one to one and group learning sessions, utilising collaborative tools. These sessions must be planned to take into account prior attainment, initial assessment, learning styles and any learning needs the learners have.
- Ability to adapt sessions, to ensure the best learning experience and attainment for learners
- Keep accurate records of attendance for all sessions, highlighting any non-attendance to the learner’s Vocational Tutor.
- Along with the Functional Skills Lead, continually evaluate your learning sessions, using attendance data, learner, employer, and observer feedback to identify improvement.
- As part of the quality team, continually evaluate all resources and make suggestions to improve the delivery model.
- Ensure your diary, and OneFile portfolios clearly show all planned activity to allow your IQA to provide remote live support, sampling and carry out observations in line with the quality cycle.
- Attend all team meetings and standardisation / training days virtually as required. Complete any CPD required/ identified as part of your required role competency in a timely manner.
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner in line with the Company's Code of Conduct and Policy Statements and Procedures
It is essential that you hold the following qualifications and experience:
- Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (or equivalent)
- Functional Skills Maths & English Level 2
- ESOL
- Experienced with working with learners who struggle with Maths and English in delivery
- CAVA (or equivalent) desirable
- Online delivery in both and individual and group settings
- Must have eligibility to work in the UK
This role will require the post holder to have an enhanced and barred DBS clear certificate.
