Title:Functional Skills Tutor - Maths and English
Location: Sunderland or Stockton Area
Pay: £24,000 per annum
Duration: 5 days, permanent
Reed - Further Education are seeking a Functional Skills Tutor to work in a SEN Specialist College with Post 16 students.
What’s the day-to-day responsibilities of a Functional Skills Tutor?
- Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plans.
- Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.
- Plan, prepare and develop effective schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources including the development of on-line learning resources for identified modules.
- Supporting apprenticeship programmes at L4 and L7 which may include delivering our impact skills programme and managing the performance and progression of learners
- Supporting students in their learning by answering queries, providing timely feedback on work
What are the required skills and qualifications needed for this role?
- SEN Experience, ideally Autism and within an Educational Background
- PGCE or a Level 5 Teaching Qualification
- Ability to manage challenging behaviours
- Confident and professional, as you will be representing the brand to their learners.
- Exceptional verbal /written communication and interpersonal skills
- IT literate including knowledge of coding/programming. Also, word processing, spreadsheets and databases i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel and Google platforms
