About Advantage Mentoring
Advantage Mentoring is a Community Interest Company that creates a unique partnership between two community assets and anchor institutions – The NHS and the charitable arms of professional football clubs; known as Club Community Organisations (CCOs).
Our flagship mental health programme increases access to NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and helps tackle waiting times and reduce Health Inequalities by providing weekly 1-2-1 mentoring support for young people aged 11-21 with mild-moderate mental health and emotional wellbeing support needs.
The programme provides key interventions and assistance for young people to proactively manage their mental wellbeing, re-establish aspirations and a sense of connection.
About the role and its purpose
This role will be responsible for driving awareness of the organisation’s work on a national and local level. This is with the key aims of increasing advocacy, support and engagement in its activities, generating positive media coverage and instilling a sense of pride in the organisation amongst existing and new stakeholders.
Job Purpose
· To position Advantage as ‘the mental health mentoring organisation partnering NHS and CCOs to provide impactful innovative healthcare solutions’
· To build brand affiliation and drive awareness of the organisation’s work on a national and local level.
· To increase advocacy, support and engagement across all organisation activities
· To generate positive media coverage and instil a sense of pride in Advantage amongst all existing and potential stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
· Co-develop a comprehensive communications strategy, with clear objectives, outcomes and resource needs, to drive awareness and growth of the organisation’s work
· Generate national and local media coverage to raise awareness of the organisation’s work amongst key audiences, including sporting, health, NHS and national/local government
· Spotlight our work in in relation to key selected themes throughout the calendar year
· Tell our story by creating regular content promoting our organisation and programme(s), including partner CCO and NHS work, and Advisory Board profiles
· Develop and manage a strategy for the organisation’s social media accounts to increase engagement and follower numbers
· Assist with the creation of publicity materials and upholding partners to our brand guidelines
· Manage, develop and update website
· Oversee all photography, videography and case studies creation
· Provide Fundraising and event support with content (internally and externally)

Skills, Experience & Knowledge
· Able to demonstrate previous examples of successful publicity campaigns delivered for other brands/organisations
· A strong track record of crafting and managing messaging
· Experience of managing the PR and digital functions for an organisation
· Project management experience and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
· Good understanding of the sports/NHS/charity landscape
· Experience managing social media accounts.
· Deep understanding of the importance of effective storytelling to support fundraising/income generation in the charity sector would be an advantage.
