About Big C

As a regional cancer charity, Big C are dedicated to supporting anyone affected by cancer in Norfolk and neighbouring counties whilst working with key partners in research and healthcare to improve future outcomes. 

An estimated 2.5 million people are living with cancer in the UK. 1 in 2 people will get cancer in their lifetime. Big C seeks and implements new approaches and projects to make sure that no one is missing out on the opportunity to access our support.

About the role

As our full-time Fundraising Assistant, you will join our small but busy Fundraising Marketing & Communications team. In this interesting and varied role, you will directly help Big C achieve its income generation targets, being first port of call for community supporters and supporting the team with planning and running engaging events.

As a successful candidate you should have experience in corporate, community or individual fundraising, and experience of using CRM databases. You will also need to be a creative thinker, have strong interpersonal skills and demonstrate a real enthusiasm to work hard and achieve great results.

You will be based at Big C’s office in Centrum, a bright and modern building on Norwich Research Park.  The team are currently working a hybrid of home and office allowing some flexibility in working hours. Travel across East Anglia will be required to work from other Big C premises and to attend events from time to time.

The hours of work are 35 hours per week, predominantly Monday to Friday but some flexibility for evening and weekend working will be required.

The salary is £20,212.50 to £20,370.00 per annum (subject to skills and experience). This will increase from 1st April 2024 to £21,142.28 to £21,307.02.
