Job description

The Fundraising Assistant is an administrative role that supports the Fundraising Team in the successful engagement of new and existing supporters. We are looking for a team player to effectively manage our systems and data, contribute to the delivery of the Fundraising Team’s objectives, give support on projects and weekly administrative tasks. The candidate will be expected to achieve a set of fundraising targets and KPIs and to create the best possible experience for our charity supporters, volunteers and partners.

This is an office based role although we would consider occasional working from home.

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•        Provide excellent stewardship and customer service by responding to all communications in a timely and professional manner, ensuring that the system is updated without delay and that relevant stakeholders are informed as required

•        Assist with the online fundraising system, educate participants, motivate and assist them and keep in regular contact

•        Create and update relevant records on the charity database

•        Co-ordinate the production of fundraising materials, keep fundraising materials stocked and fundraising packs up-to-date

•        Send donors information and fundraising materials to support their fundraising for Police Care UK

•        Write and send outgoing thank you letters to individual donors and groups, and manage all post for fundraising team

•        Understand and keep up to date on all relevant fundraising regulations and best practice guidelines – as set out by Police Care UK’s internal processes, policies and procedures and ensure that these are adhered to in all practices

•        Work closely with colleagues to ensure consistency of the charity’s message within community fundraising activities

•        Provide regular reports to the Head of Fundraising

•        Support the Fundraising Team with the other tasks that required

•        Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues across Police Care UK providing guidance on how to optimise all fundraising opportunities, including digital channels

•        Champion Police Care UK and the support it provides to our police, their families and the wider police service

•        To be well acquainted with the extent of the Charity’s work

PERSON SPECIFICATION CRITERIA

Experience 

•         Proven work experience in fundraising for charities

•         Experience of customer care in a charity or sales environment

•         Experience in keeping good administrative records

•        Experience in Community Fundraising

•        Experience working with CRM systems

Skills & Attributes 

•         Good quality written, verbal, and telephonic communication skills

•         Continuously aiming to offer an excellent customer service experience

•         Ability to multi-task, organise and prioritise workload, and work to deadlines

•         Organised and methodical with good attention to detail

•         Process-orientated and the ability to understand and improve systems

•         An ability to work collaboratively with others

•         Excellent writing skills including experience of editing and writing compelling copy

          Knowledge

•         Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Word and especially Excel

•         Understanding of donor insight and engagement journeys

•         Knowledge and experience of updating a database

•         Knowledge in project management skills would be an advantage
