Job Title: Fundraising Assistant

Pay: GBP11.67 per hour

Shift/ Hours: Monday- Friday 9am-5pm (37.5 hours a week)

Location: Mount Vernon Hospital, Northwood, HA6 2RN

About the Trust

East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust provide services to the local community to around 500,000 people, with the regional cancer centre supporting around 2 million people. They provide care to the community with an annual budget of around GBP350 million and more than 5,000 staff.

What you'll be responsible for:

• Provide support to the department on a range of administrative tasks including, dealing with enquiries (postal, telephone, email, face to face), opening and sorting post
• Work to build excellent relationships with donors in order to provide a high standard of customer care
• Work with the Head of Public Fundraising to ensure tasks are correctly prioritised and deadlines are met
• Process one-off and regular donations from both online and offline sources ensuring procedures are followed and information is recorded correctly onto the database
• Ensure the database is kept accurate and up to date by recording changes including mailing preferences, address details and financial information

You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You'll have the following skills/experience:

• Excellent communication skills- both verbal and written
• Microsoft office skills- Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
• Previous admin/ secretarial experience
• Previous customer service experience
• Fundraising experience
• Previous NHS experience
• NHS System Knowledge

This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.
