  • Position:Fundraising Manager and Alumnae
  • Location: Near Potters Bar, Herts
  • Salary: £35,000 - £37,000 per annum (Depending on experience)
  • Contract: Permanent, Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week

Fundraising Manager and Alumnae:

Job Purpose:

This is an exciting new role which is vital for our client, where you will be responsible for the smooth running of their alumnae Association. Our clients alumnae are an important part of the School’s past, present, and future, and in this role, you will be helping to enhance this link. Working closely with the Director of External Relations your role will involve fundraising, event management, marketing, and administration; all of which will help us to achieve our school’s mission to inspire and empower young women to be the best they can be today and in the future, and for them to make a positive impact in the world.

Background:

Alumnae - Members are located across the world, with the majority being UK based. This role will be fundamental in supporting them, and harnessing their goodwill by actively seeking opportunities to involve them in the life of the School.

Fundraising - The School’s new five-year strategy identifies an ambitious plan for developing thier campus. This will be partly financed by fundraising efforts. You will play a pivotal role in securing these funds by helping to develop new and sustainable income streams to support the School’s strategy. This will include research, analysis, and nurturing relationships with major donors.

Key Accountabilities:

  • To report to and work closely with our Director of External Relations and represent them at events as an ambassador for the School.
  • To undertake a varied work portfolio of fundraising, donor research, alumnae and donor event management and marketing.
  • To deliver agreed friend-raising and fundraising targets.
  • To raise our clients profile within the School.

Experience and Knowledge

  • Demonstrable success in delivering fundraising income to meet targets.
  • Experienced in using relational databases such as the Raiser’s Edge CRM or other similar software, for inputting and analysis of data.
  • Experience of successfully developing and implementing all aspects of marketing communications. This includes online marketing (websites, CMS, email campaigns, social media for business) as well as offline marketing (events, print and promotional materials).
  • Knowledge of, and best practice in philanthropy and prospect development in the not-for profit sector, education or culture sectors.

Skills

  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence, motivate and persuade internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills and an eye for detail.
  • Able to work well under pressure, capable of prioritising a busy and varied workload.

  • A pro-active approach with high levels of drive, energy, and stamina.
  • Engaging and compelling personality to articulate the fundraising need and benefits to the School and donors
  • Confident and positive.
  • Supportive of and upholds the ethos of the School at all times.
