Job description

Are you a fundraising professional looking to grow your knowledge and experience with Corporate Partnerships and Trust and Foundation fundraising? We have an exciting new vacancy for a Partnerships Fundraising Officer at national homelessness charity Emmaus UK.

About Emmaus UK

Emmaus UK is a secular organisation supporting people who have experienced homelessness, poverty and social exclusion by providing a home for long as it is needed, meaningful work in a social enterprise and a sense of belonging and community. There are currently 30 Emmaus communities in the UK stretching from Glasgow to Brighton, and from Norfolk to Wales, which collectively support more than 850 people. We understand that a home is more than just a roof over your head; it’s somewhere to belong, where you feel part of a community, and that’s what Emmaus offers.

About the role

More people than ever are experiencing what it means to be homeless. The numbers are overwhelming. Here at Emmaus, we exist to give hope and a sense of belonging to those who have experienced homelessness and poverty. Our new Fundraising and Influence Strategy sets out ambitious goals for supporter engagement and growth, and the Partnerships Fundraising Officer role presents an exciting opportunity to join our team, to help us build a movement across the UK to achieve social change.

The Partnerships Fundraising Officer will work with the fundraising directorate across all income streams, with a particular focus on Corporate Partnerships and Trusts and Foundations. You will offer support with income generation, reporting and stewardship tasks, whilst also taking the lead on certain partners and trust donors.

The role will be a key point of contact for federation-wide fundraising communications, developing relationships with Emmaus communities and federation staff.

This is a full-time position offering 5 days per week (37.5 hours), Monday to Friday. Flexible working options can be discussed during the interview stage.

Within this role, you can be based remotely at home or in our central Birmingham office. Wherever you are based, maintaining positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders will be vitally important. Occasional travel to communities, partners and trusts across the UK will be required. Travel to team meetings, usually held in Birmingham, and other locations will also be required on occasion.

Who are we looking for?

The successful applicant will have at least one year’s experience in a fundraising role and will show a keenness to specialise in either Corporate Partnerships or Trust and Foundations, or both. They will demonstrate a basic knowledge of thefundraising landscape across the UK, and be familiar with the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice.

Our ideal applicant will have excellent organisational skills, showing confidence when supporting on different projects at the same time, and managing conflicting deadlines. They will also have creative and adaptable communications skills, in order to build robust relationships with a wide range of both internal and external stakeholders.

The successful applicant will have an eagerness to learn and develop their fundraising skillset within a national homelessness charity. This is an exciting and rewarding role for someone who is looking to work across multiple fundraising disciplines and establish themselves in our small but agile team.

If you’re passionate about making a difference and seeing a long-lasting impact, then this is the perfect time for you to get involved with Emmaus.
