Perth and Kinross Council are recruiting for a Gaelic Development Officer to take forward the local and national priorities set out in its Gaelic Language Plan 2024-29.  

The Plan has recently received Council and Scottish Ministers' approval and a dynamic and creative Gaelic speaker is sought to ensure effective implementation and monitoring of the Plan.  

The post is based at 2 High Street, Perth with a hybrid approach to working and there will be a requirement to engage with stakeholders across the communities of Perth and Kinross.  

The area has a long standing tradition of linguistic and cultural connections with Gaelic.

There are a wide range of professional learning opportunities that come with the post.

A Diploma/Degree in a relevant discipline is required and the successful candidate is required to have a good level of spoken and written Gaelic.

The Individual

We are looking for a Gaelic speaker who has experience of engagements with community groups, schools, culture and heritage groups and national Gaelic groups.  

We are seeking an excellent communicator who understands the Gaelic landscape and who can work with a range of internal and external partners.
