Welcome to Warner Bros. Discovery… the stuff dreams are made of.

Who We Are…

When we say, “the stuff dreams are made of,” we’re not just referring to the world of wizards, dragons and superheroes, or even to the wonders of Planet Earth. Behind WBD’s vast portfolio of iconic content and beloved brands, are the storytellers bringing our characters to life, the creators bringing them to your living rooms and the dreamers creating what’s next…

From brilliant creatives, to technology trailblazers, across the globe, WBD offers career defining opportunities, thoughtfully curated benefits, and the tools to explore and grow into your best selves. Here you are supported, here you are celebrated, here you can thrive.

Rocksteady Studios is an award-winning, critically acclaimed video game developer. Founded in 2004, we are home to the widely celebrated Batman: Arkham series of games. Our philosophy for game development is all about treating people well to create quality entertainment that stands the test of time. We’re a one-project studio that built our success by combining genre-defining gameplay and character-driven cinematic narrative with AAA production values. Born in the heart of London, our multicultural team takes inspiration from the culture and history of our home in one of the most diverse cities in the world.

Your New Role…

Rocksteady is looking for Game Code Director to join our dedicated and collaborative team working on our upcoming AAA title Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

The Game Code Director is responsible for ensuring that the Game Code teams deliver the highest quality game experience possible, in line with the Creative Director's vision. You will guide and support these teams and their leads in architecting, building and maintaining robust and flexible systems that support our design goals and the iterative development process which has enabled the high calibre of games Rocksteady is known for.

Close collaboration with other departments is key to achieving this. Working with Production, you'll help to create schedules that keep us focused on the most important areas, hit our targets and adapt to the changing needs of the project. Through regular discussions with the Design and Content teams, you'll understand and influence the overall shape and low-level details of our AAA game. And naturally, you'll frequently engage with the wider Code team to align our efforts.

Your role as the head of the Game Code team includes supporting the people on it and their growth and development, both directly for your leads, and through them for their team members.

As a Code Director, you’ll engage with developing and adapting the vision, direction and culture of the whole Code team. You will also be involved in setting the overall direction of the project, and the operation of the wider studio.

Your Role Accountabilities…

  • Ensuring the Game Code teams deliver the highest quality game experience possible, on time

  • Improving game development processes and approaches to maximise the efficiency and productivity of these teams

  • Guiding and influencing the design and implementation of gameplay features, in collaboration with the Design and Content teams

  • Providing technical direction for Game Code teams by engaging with their requirements analysis, giving architectural oversight of the systems they build, and coordinating with engine development as needed

  • Supporting the people on these teams to achieve their goals, develop their skills, and sustain their wellbeing, as line manager of the Game Code leads

  • Ensuring your teams have realistic plans, and working to increase the predictability of their delivery

  • Overseeing recruitment for internal teams and collaboration with external development partners

Qualifications & Experience…

  • Extensive experience leading engineers and working with teams of Gameplay coders

  • A high level of technical ability, including with C++

  • Substantial professional game development experience on high quality projects

  • Self-directed, organised and able to prioritise effectively
Experience with Unreal Engine productions is preferred

  • Familiarity with game AI & Animation techniques and approaches is beneficial

  • Experience developing networked multiplayer and open world games is desirable
