Job Description

We are looking for a talented and energetic individual with an interest in sport to join us in a post-graduate gap year.

This position would be ideal for a student considering a career in teaching, as it offers many opportunities to discover life as a member of staff in a busy independent school. Part of the role would be spent with the PE & Games department assisting with their duties. A knowledge of rugby, football and cricket would be an advantage and the ability to assist in PE lessons, lunchtime clubs and afterschool training sessions. The other part of the role would be spent working alongside the SEND department, supporting a student in school with his studies, giving an ideal opportunity to experience a wide variety of different classroom-based experiences. The student concerned needs support with general organisation and study skills as we seek to provide him with the best possible opportunity to succeed academically and pastorally.

Working in two different departments will require the candidate to be organised and have good communication skills for dialogue between the departments.

To Apply:

Email the completed application form, along with a covering letter, addressed to the Headmaster, Mr James Davies to hr@hallifordschool.co.uk

Applications must be received by midday on Friday 12th April 2024.

Please apply as soon as possible as applications will be considered upon receipt; we reserve the right to interview/appoint before the closing date.

We are proactively committed to creating a diverse staff body which reflects the community that we teach. At Halliford School, we value diversity and inclusion; we want to attract the best people for the role. This is regardless of age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, disability, socioeconomic status or religious beliefs.

Halliford School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff, volunteers and visitors to share our commitment. We are an equal opportunities employer and the successful candidate will be subject to enhanced DBS disclosure and employment reference checks. You must be eligible to work in the UK.

All applications will be acknowledged by email.

Offers of employment are subject to the receipt of a minimum of two references which are satisfactory to the School. Please refer to our Recruitment Selection and Disclosure Policy which can be found on the school website.
