Location: South (predominantly remote/home based role with regular travel across the UK and overseas opportunities)
Salary: c. £25,000 basic salary
Hours: Full-time?worked flexibly over a 5-day week?(The role requires attending events in the evening during busy periods)

Opportunity:

Thompson & Terry Recruitment are working with?a purposeful business and charity who inspire young people to travel and volunteer overseas. They are?looking to recruit a passionate, value driven and knowledgeable Gap Year Advisor to join their team and work closely with students across the UK who are thinking about planning their own overseas Gap Year.

As Gap Year Advisor, a big part of your job will be working closely with college/sixth form and university students to assist with the planning and organisation of their Gap Year travel and volunteering overseas. This role will involve communicating with students across the country through presentations and 1-1 meetings to provide insight into the opportunities available to them, travelling to universities across the UK and attending Gap Year fairs too.

As the business/charity’s focus is international development, it is essential that the successful candidate has a passion for making a difference to communities globally, and personal experience of solo travelling and can therefore successfully engage with students. ???

In addition to the day-to-day duties required, the Gap Year Advisor will also be responsible for posting on a number of social media channels, increasing the brand’s presence within the student community, responding to student emails and being a point of contact for these students.

This vacancy could be well suited to a recent graduate, who has a genuine passion for inspiring young people to travel overseas but is equally ambitious to build a genuine career, as the current head of department joined at this level just 5 years ago.

Requirements:

• Previous experience with solo-travel/planning a Gap Year which included providing aid in overseas communities
• Strong level of English (both written and verbal)
• Value focused with a genuine passion for supporting people and communities
• The ability to manage own diary and be flexible to attend occasional evening event requirements (freshers fairs as an example)?
• Due to the nature of the role, willingness to regularly travel to universities across the UK is essential
