Details of the role:
We are seeking flexible Garden Services Relief Cover Staff to lead groups in cases of staff absence, holiday or illness. Your knowledge and practical experience will be at a level where you can lead and support others with the tasks.
Relief cover schedules are planned well ahead as most cover is for pre-booked dates such as holidays or staff training. A smaller amount of cover will be at short notice, such as for sickness.
Most of our Relief Staff work on a zero hours basis as our cover needs can vary week by week. Over a year we expect an average of 2-3 day’s work per week depending upon the number of areas you can work in and your availability. However, for staff who have experience in a range of areas, we may be able to offer some contracted hours. Hours are variable but most take place between 8.30am-4.30pm Monday – Friday.
About you:
The ideal candidate will have experience in gardening work, a good general knowledge of planting, pruning, and weeding, excellent health and safety awareness, and great customer service skills. You will also be excellent at building relationships and empowering others and experienced with supporting those with a range of skills and abilities.
There will also be cover work available in our other work areas including some horticulture-based work areas. If your skills and experience match these other areas, then additional Relief Cover work will also be available to you.
Plant production – growing from seed and plugs, propagation and plant care.
Land crops - growing organic vegetable and fruit crops.
Woodwork – hand making a range of items from recycled wood.
Office and events administration – drafting our newsletter and organising events.
Crafts – weaving, jewellery, dried flower crafts, card-making – we make all sorts!
Cooking – creating delicious vegetarian lunches during the week for our teams.
Shop – serving and selling to our fab customers!
One-to-one support – enabling and empowering with a commitment to building genuine relationships.
