Gas Installations Engineer

We're recruiting a Gas Installs Engineer to join the fantastic Yorkshire Housing Gas Team in our York region. Please note you could be working anywhere within Yorkshire when required.  

Here’s what you need to know:  

How much? 

We pay £37,816.20 per annum for a 37.5-hour week. 

You’ll get 25 days of paid annual leave (rising annually to 30) plus Bank Holidays. We offer a fantastic pension scheme and will match your contribution up to 9%.

When? 

You’ll work a 37.5-hour week, and your contracted hours will vary, and could be between 8am-8pm (Mon-Fri).  

Between October and April, you will be on a rota and occasionally carry out services on a Saturday morning as part of your contracted hours, and there’s the opportunity to work overtime when required.  

Where? 

You’ll be based predominantly in the York area. From time to time, you might be asked to travel to other locations across Yorkshire.

What you’ll be doing 

You’ll be responsible for the installations of various heating systems, including gas, electrical and heat pumps.  

You’ll also be inspecting, testing and certifying works carried out.  

Of course, you’ll be following the manufacturer’s instructions, in accordance with the Gas Safety (installation and use) Regulations and Yorkshire Housings policies and procedures.   

You’ll be the face of Yorkshire Housing to many of our tenants. So, respectful, warm and professional communication is a key part of this role.  

You’ll also work closely with the compliance team in ensuring work is undertaken safely. 

The stuff that sets you apart  

This role would suit someone with previous experience installing and repairing Gas, Air Source Heat Pumps and Electrical Heating.   

You’ll be able to deal with different priorities and work to deadlines, whilst maintaining high standards of work. 

You’ll hold current ACS Certificates CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1 & CKR1 or equivalent.
