Job description

About the role

The Greater Cambridge Partnership (GCP) is responsible for transforming Greater Cambridge through a City Deal aimed at unlocking the economic growth potential of the area over the coming decades and realising thousands of new jobs and homes.

As the Senior Programme Officer for the GCP, you will support the management of the major Transport Programme which includes significant investment in public and active travel.

Our website can be viewed at www.greatercambridge.org.uk.

What will you be doing?

This will require excellent communication skills as you work with major stakeholders such as Network Rail, National Highways and Natural England. You will be overseeing monthly financial and delivery reporting processes across the GCP programme to ensure the smooth running of the GCP and the delivery of its ambitious £500m+ programme. You will ensure that major projects are on track and escalate issues to senior members of the team where required.

About you

You will require a good understanding of programme and project management, ideally focused within the Transport field. You will have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and want the challenge that the considerable financial and strategic value of the programme to be delivered will bring. You will need to be a go-getter that doesn’t let the details slip, organised and someone that thrives on interaction to get the work done.

We are proud to be an inclusive and equal opportunities employer, committed to hiring people based on attitude and merit, regardless of gender identity or expression, ethnic origin, nationality, religion or beliefs, sexual orientation, disability status or any other protected characteristic. We are committed to building a culturally diverse workforce and therefore encourage applications from groups that are underrepresented within the council.

The Greater Cambridge Partnership offers flexible working arrangements which includes remote/home working, job share and part time or full-time agreements.

Please note - If you have applied and been unsuccessful for this role within the last six months, please wait until six months have elapsed before applying again.

If you would like any further information on this role, please contact Jane Mills on jane.mills@cambridgeshire.gov.uk

Interviews will be taking place Friday 12th July and Monday 15th July 2024 and will be in-person at Mandela House, Regent Street, Cambridge CB2 1BY
