Your new company is a large Tier 1 infrastructure contractor that has been awarded two contracts with a large water utility provider to improve and upgrade capacity on existing water treatment facilities in the isle of Wight with a value of £4 million and in Southampton with a value of £10 million.
Your new role is to support a site manager by delivering the civil engineering elements of the overall project to lay foundations, RC frame slabs, services, pipework, man-holes, duct access chambers, cable draw pits and temporary works. You will be supervising a work force of subcontract and agency labour ensuring standards of safety are upheld, tool box talks, inductions and ensuring stakeholders adhere to risk assessments and method statements. You will need to complete daily and weekly work reports and ensure high standards of quality are maintained on site.
What you'll need to succeed SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid are essential and Temporary Works Coordinator is useful. You would need good communication skills and previous experience as a General Foreman in the UK on civil engineering projects. Successful candidates would have previously worked in the utilities, highways, rail, nuclear or civil engineering sectors.
What you'll get in return is an agency assignment for 8 months working 45 hours per week and paying £22.06 per hour PAYE plus holiday pay or £29 per hour, the Umbrella Ltd method. The CIS method is not available.
