Integral are looking for an experienced General Maintenance Operative to join the Public sector team. All candidates must have a valid DBS certificate.
The Role
- To be a member of a professional team and assist the Site Manager to deliver a high quality contractual service in a timely and efficient manner
- To implement the building services planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programme.
- Carry out reactive maintenance as per the building operating manuals and in compliance with the contract service levels.
- As part of the routine, be responsible for the security of the building and grounds. This will include locking, unlocking of the site, and setting, un-setting of alarms.
- Ensure the whole site is kept presentable and free from litter
Day to Day
- Ensure the building and site is secured correctly, setting and monitoring of Intruder Alarm.
- Report and arrange repairs and maintenance needs.
- Progress chase, and report delays to the Facilities Manager
- Ensure that contractors on site do not cause a health and safety hazard or damage school property in any way.
- Report any matters of concern or non-compliance with contract specification to the Facilities Manager
- Be responsible for signing job completion paperwork as required
- Inspect all play areas and equipment and remove any dangerous material or objects daily to ensure the safety of users.
- Assist with furniture moves for after school events and third party lettings.
- Take delivery of site stores, materials and equipment, ensuring correct distribution and storage within the school.
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance, and Reactive Tasks as requested.
- Enter any Pro-active tasks in the relevant book.
To undertake minor repair and maintenance work, including:
Carpentry
- Refitting notice boards and pin boards, easing doors, fencing etc.
Plumbing
- Repairing leaking taps, refitting toilet seats, renewing ball valve washers and floats, clearing blocked toilets, ensuring drains, channels and grease traps are kept clear and disinfected
Electrical
- Fitting of plug tops, replacing plug fuses, light tubes, bulbs and starters.
General
- Minor plaster repairs, minor repairs to floor covering, internal decorations to include painting, removal of graffiti, replacing fixtures and fittings, e.g. toilet roll holders, paper towel holders, brackets, shelves, cupboards, plus minor repairs to fencing, paths, drives and playground, minor glazing
