DHL, award winning leading supply chain business is seeking a General Manager – Planning, to play a vital role coordinating our daily logistics requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of supply chain management practices and a demonstrative understanding of storage and distribution procedures.

The successful candidate with have overall responsibility and accountability for the efficient and profitable network planning for the Large Item network, meeting the network KPI's and exceeding customer SLA's. This role has full responsibility for the Transport Planning and Customer Services for the Large Item fleet

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

• Overall responsibility for all P&L activities across the business
• Create and implement vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
• Act as a 21st Century Manager leading and developing a team of Planners, CI Team, and Customer Services Agents.
• Ensure strong communication between teams under leadership, to facilitate exchange of information and in order to implement change and improvements.
• Provide leadership, coordination and coaching to the team, ensuring they are trained enabling them to achieve the operational and financial metrics within their areas of responsibility and succeed in their roles.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively to ensure P&L objectives are being met.

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

• Previous experience of Planning, Transport Networks, understanding of complex customer propositions with strong Customer Service skills, with experience of continuous improvement.
• Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to develop large teams to optimise team performance and development.
• Confidence in communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Results orientated with the ability to plan and prioritise multiple projects of self and others and to deliver against objectives and deadlines.
• Commercially and financially astute with experience of managing budgets.
• Centralised Planning Function exposure.
