Our General Practitioners are extremely valued and are well respected members of the Prison Healthcare community. We deliver first class healthcare to a diverse group of patients and therefore as a General Practitioner at Practice Plus Group you get the opportunity to further develop your knowledge in areas you wouldn’t usually experience within a practice, or even A&E environment. As a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, you will provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient’s requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management. You will also provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.

What you'll be doing:

We recognise training and development is key, therefore we provide a training portal to facilitate your needs as well as have an in-depth induction for all staff whether you have experience of working in prisons or not. You will gain insight into Mental Health and Substance Misuse, as well as access to a variety of training opportunities with the opportunity to work towards your RCGP level 2 and other qualifications should you wish.

You’ll receive an annual salary up to £130,000 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

This is a full time job but we would consider part time applications. About us:

HMP Leicester is a Category B local prison holding men who are on remand as well as sentenced. It has an operational capacity of around 400. The prison is located in the City Centre and is a 15-minute walk from the station.
