Job description

We are seeking a graduate for a world leading centre for hydrography and bathymetry.  The organisation work with a wide range of data suppliers and partners to support maritime navigation, safety, security and marine development around the UK and worldwide.
Geodesy Graduate - Role Overview

  • The role is fully remote home-based working
  • Very flexible working hours
  • Full training
  • You would be expected to attend Head office for the first month of employment for initial training
  • After which attendance would be as when required
  • Be responsible for the analysis and processing of geodetic survey data into a range of databases for onward use in products and services
  • Be responsible for updating geodetic databases and data management processes
  • Have the opportunity to carry out development and testing of data/systems and work with other Geodesy subject matter experts
  • Provide geodetic technical advice and support to chart production
  • Validation and appraisal of the geodetic content of incoming hydrographic surveys and provide support to survey teams as and when required
  • Provide geodetical advice and training to customers and partners within the maritime community

Geodesy Graduate – Candidate Requirements

  • A degree in Geodesy or a related discipline like Geophysics
  • We are looking for someone with knowledge of geodetic reference systems, map projections and geodetic theory
  • We are looking for candidates who enjoy working as part of a small, specialist team, but who are keen to share their specialist knowledge and experience across the business and with internal and external stakeholders and customers
  • The ability and confidence to build effective working relationships and communicate with a broad range of audiences will be important in the role
  • You must be able to demonstrate and utilise your technical expertise within the geodesy science domain, applying this to the development of processes, continual improvement of existing processes, technologies and tools, and the stewardship of geodetic data
  • You must be a UK resident
