A medium-sized professional and highly esteemed Engineering Consultancy with expertise in conducting multi-faceted Site Investigation Surveys comprised of Geotechnical & Geo-environmental site evaluations for high-profile UK construction and development projects. The business has been operational for 30+ years with thousands of independent site-investigations conducted of various scale.
Organisation management comprises of chartered geotechnical engineers with career-long expertise working within the industry. If an individual aspires to become chartered this will be highly looked upon by the business, and a plan will be put in place to fund and help you achieve this goal
The individual will possess an analytical mindset, good project management skills, and aspirations to truly progress within the industry, whereby progress to chartered status would be actively supported by the business.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Supervision of all site investigation activity, collaborating with internal engineers & management of 3rd party participants.
- Subsurface investigations through boring & test pits, analysing geological material and ground characteristics.
- Manage test rigs and support site organisation / Conduct in-situ tests of rock & soil samples.
- Recommendations on proposed use of site based on material testing & environmental analysis, and recommended actions to be taken.
- Conduct full analysis of site-suitability addressing hazards which may affect engineering works, using gathered data and associated software.
- Ensure data integrity & quality is kept to the highest standard.
- Responsible liaison to client & business management, providing updates on project benchmarks.
- Phase 1 & phase 2 project reporting (training provided depending on experience)
- Checking of field & lab data / report writing / ground models / internal communications and deliverables.
- Degree qualified in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering or similar discipline.
- 2+ years experience in a related role (graduates also considered)
- Member of professional regulatory body preferred i.e. Geological Society / ICE (membership funding provided, stated within offer of employment)
- UK driving license required.
Youll become part of a passionate geotechnical team delivering quality recommendations on high value projects. Support and direction will be provided to those with aspirations to become chartered, be it a 1, 2, 5-year plan. Additionally thorough training and development is supported for those at a graduate level seeking further experience in the field.
