SalaryVNA Recruitment are currently recruiting for Geotechnical/Geoenvironmental Engineers for our client based in Needham Market, Suffolk.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Planning, coordinating, and overseeing intrusive investigations
- Conducting fieldwork
- Gathering, analysing, and interpreting data
- Creating factual and interpretative reports
- Ensuring projects adhere to budget and timeline
- Collaborating with clients, consultants, and contractors
- Utilising specialised computer applications
Essential skills encompass:
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities
- Proficiency in working independently and as part of a team
- Accurate task execution and adherence to strict methodologies
- Meticulous attention to detail, discipline, care, and focus
- Experience in soil and rock logging according to current standards
- Strong report writing skills
- Project management and organizational proficiency
- BSc/MSc or BEng/MEng in geology, civil engineering, or related fields, although other qualifications will be considered
Ideally, candidates should demonstrate experience in multiple areas, such as:
- Preparation of desk studies
- Assessment of human health risks
- Classification of waste
- Assessment of groundwater risks
- Assessment of ground gas risks
- Conducting ground investigations
- Evaluating foundations
- Preparation of factual and interpretative reports
Prospective candidates must be prepared to conduct and oversee ground investigation and contaminated land projects in the geotechnical and geo-environmental sector. They should also play a key role in enhancing the department's report writing capacity. This position involves a combination of office and field work, therefore, applicants must possess a valid UK driving license.
