The Anglian Water @one Alliance is a totally collaborative organisation made up of seven partner companies (Anglian Water, SWECO, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, MMB, MWH Treatment, and Skanska) and an extended supply chain, delivering over half of Anglian Waters capital investment programme.

We are gearing up for our most exciting and challenging Asset Management Period yet, known as AMP8, this will see us deliver a programme of work larger than weve ever delivered before. Well be embarking on a new kind of project delivery focusing on nature-based solutions like wetlands and urban drainage schemes.

Our Digital team is an innovative force driving efficiency and collaboration within the @one Alliance. We are committed to leveraging geospatial technologies to revolutionize our industry-leading collaborative alliance. We are seeking to recruit a GIS Analyst to join our Digital team.

What will you be doing as our new Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Analyst?

As a GIS Analystand member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to shape our digital strategy and contribute to meaningful organizational change. This role presents an exciting opportunity within the to drive innovation and efficiency using geospatial technologies. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, you'll play a key role in supporting the embedding of GIS applications and processes within the Alliance. Your insights and expertise will help address challenges, drive adoption, and contribute to the organization's digital transformation journey.

Key Responsibilities:

GIS Analytics:

  • Utilise existing tools and data to perform spatial analytics in GIS.
  • Research and adopt innovative techniques to provide new insights.
  • Report findings to influence decision-making and support business activities.
  • Support the wider digital team in understanding GIS's role in supporting business activities.
  • Develop and improve system and data integrations to enhance efficiency.

GIS Training and Support:

  • Offer end-user support and guidance on GIS systems and processes.
  • Develop and implement rollout plans for new GIS applications.
  • Manage the onboarding process for new users and provide training.
  • Create user support documentation and gather feedback.
  • Identify superusers and provide ongoing support and training.

GIS Application Development and Innovation:

  • Utilise ArcGIS suite tools to build and develop new applications.
  • Update and improve existing GIS applications.
  • Work with external suppliers to project manage application development.
  • Develop GIS-enabled processes to improve workflows.
  • Research new suppliers and technologies to support business activities.

Supplier Relations and Engagement:

  • Promote the use of GIS and digital technologies within the Alliance.
  • Deliver internal presentations on the value of GIS.
  • Engage with internal teams to understand how GIS can better support them.
  • Actively engage with suppliers and external stakeholders to explore innovations.
  • Represent the @one at conferences and events, providing feedback to suppliers.

Team Support:

  • Provide updates to the wider digital team and support digital transformations.
  • Actively contribute to shaping the Alliance's digital strategy.
  • Support the digital team in developing MVPs and implementing new capabilities.

A little bit about your skills and experience:

You'll be degree educated, ideally in Geography or a Science, but all degrees will be considered. Youll have a keen interest in emerging technologies and practical delivery. Ideally experience in a GIS role, particularly in analytics or application development and have proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS products, including ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro. You'll also be confident in providing support and training where required.

Your strengths lie in technical, commercial, and customer-facing and you are proficient in coding languages relevant to GIS (Arcade, Python, SQL). You'll have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and enjoy working in multi-disciplinary teams.
