Global Data Product Owner

As part of our continued growth we have an exciting new position to join our Data Products team.  In this role you will have the chance to define the vision, strategy, and roadmap of Data Products, as well as collaborating with broader analytics team, technology team and business stakeholders to deliver value to the Costa business.  Ideally we are looking for you to combine data science, data engineering, and business skills to develop and manage Data Products that solve real-world problems.

As Costa looks to establish itself as a leading player in our sector abroad, this role will be critical to the success of this ambition as we roll out analytics, AI and ML solutions to support this expansion and growth.

A bit about the role...

We are the Costa data team, focused on improving consumer experiences, helping our customers perform better, and making Costa a data driven company. We are looking for a strong analytical leader to manage a team of analysts and senior analysts and to own the prioritisation and delivery of data and analytics products.  In this role, you will:

  • Work with business stakeholders to understand and anticipate their needs and goals and then translate business outcomes into analytical objectives to be prioritised and delivered in an agile way
  • Lead your team to be extra-ordinary, helping the Platforms and Markets leaders make better faster decisions using trusted data and sharp analytics and insights.
  • Be the subject matter expert in the area of data and analytics, establish yourself as the go to person for questions, new ideas or requirements to be solved through data and analytics.
  • Use data to measure performance of Data Products under your charge to inform your decisions about how to iterate and continually improve; keeping stakeholders informed of performance on a regular basis.
  • Work closely with data engineering, architecture, governance and data science to deliver your backlog.

  • Strong depth of experience in data, insights and analytics (QSR, Retail preferred)
  • Experience of working on various platforms
  • Azure environment with data bricks
  • Proficient in using SQL, Python or other languages
  • Experience in using AI and ML techniques to solve business problems
  • Experience of delivering using Agile way of working
  • Proven project management skills and team leadership
  • Experience in working across borders and tie-zones
  • Managing on-shore and off-shore teams
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Flair for Problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Comfortable working in a matrix environment with a diverse stakeholders

Location: Remote with the ability to attend our London office a minimum of once a week.
