Job description

A global market-leading manufacturing business are looking for a Global Head of Lean Manufacturing and it's a brand-new position for the business as they continue to drive operational efficiency across all of their divisions. This exciting opportunity is accountable for the strategic direction, communication & content of one of their key programmes. This role supports the deployment, learning, & compliance of said programme within all operational divisions, ensuring that the voice of the customer is understood and relevant. The role supports global revenue of $4bn across six divisions and has a global remit irrespective of brand, product, or division. Working with the divisions to build a team that coaches and trains associate's in behavioural thinking, lean methodologies & ensures a talent pipeline, through a systemic platform. The role will lead consistency of purpose, provide thought leadership of organisational structure within the divisions in support of the programs and ensure that resource is available to deliver operational excellence. Knowledge/ experience required:

  • Minimum of 5 years with demonstrated ability to deliver large complex change programmes
  • Experience in leading operational excellence and other improvement projects
  • Demonstrated skill and achievement in implementing Lean practices in a manufacturing environment
  • Solid experience with successful execution of innovation, step change or transformation programs
  • Formal Lean certification or recognition of professional education within a business environment e.g. Six Sigma / Shingo
  • Proven track record of leading business units with cultural challenges to success
  • Strong focus on quality, accuracy, deadlines and orderly work and the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions and then the ability to present back

This is a challenging but at the same time exciting opportunity and will require the type of candidate who can remain calm under pressure and can find creative and pragmatic solutions. It's vital that the successful individual is proactive, making sure that red flags are highlighted, that action plans are put in place when / where necessary and that an open communication with internal and external parties is maintained.
