Job Description


Purpose of the Job

This position oversees the international pay process, guiding policy, examining tax and social security regulations, liaising with senior management, and ensuring other members of the payroll team receive the training and knowledge they need to perform their duties.

You will be responsible for all functions of payroll including managing and improving process; deliver accurate, compliant and timely payroll service for all regions assigned. The focus of this position is to maintain and develop staff, to document and align processes, and bring efficiencies and best practices to all aspects of payroll. This position will work to build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders, including external and internal customers.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support, develop, and motivate payroll team. Be the final point of contact for all escalations for all stakeholders.
  • Provide proactive risk assessment and mitigation strategies, while assessing and enhancing internal controls
  • Reviews all payroll for accuracy and reasonableness and supplies the final sign off for processing.
  • Liaises with providers, the payroll team and legal to remain updated on compliance for new and changing legislation. Responsible for initiating process/system changes to comply with all new regulations.
  • Partner with international payroll teams to build Global Payroll variance analysis and evaluate trends.
  • Support health insurance and pension plan administration with processing and taxation.
  • Ensure all year end and quarter end tasks are completed on time and accurately. Be the final reviewer/approver on all year-end tax filings.
  • Liaise with third party vendors, and IT for system upgrades/changes/implementations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with all key stakeholders, department heads, and Finance partners in the business with frequent meetings and check-ins.
  • Work with the finance team for accurate and complete payroll journal entries and assist with month/year end closing as needed.
  • Oversee all audits, both internal and external, and assist as needed to ensure timelines are adhered to.
  • Critically review and analyse current payroll processes in order to provide recommendations and solutions to management for opportunities to gain efficiencies.

Qualifications


Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • Payroll qualification preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Demonstrable skills in the Microsoft Office Suite; particularly Excel
  • Social skills necessary for teamwork and management
  • Strong technical and hands on experience with payroll
  • Experience in multi-jurisdictional/regional payrolls
  • High ability to be adaptable and flexible
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of payroll related regional regulations and payroll requirements
  • Excellent judgement, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • High degree of professionalism and solid ability in delivering high quality customer service and establishing/maintaining effective and collaborative working relationships
  • Detailed orientated and can maintain confidentiality in a professional manner
