We're looking for an experienced International Tax Manager (with an indirect tax bias) to own and develop the Global Tax function of a key Gen AI player.

The company
One of the fastest growing and most impressive Gen AI startups in the world today, who recently received 'unicorn' status, are building out their finance function and they want to start with tax.

As a Global Tax professional with an appetite to be directly involved with the AI boom, you'll be able to represent a company that will inevitably become a household name.

What differentiates this AI company is that they are one of the few that actually conduct their own research and develop their own products. They're not just a wrapper for someone else's work!
The role
In this newly created role you'll be responsible for building this company's Global Tax function from scratch.

Greenfield roles like these are incredibly rewarding but they need a certain type of person who doesn't shy away from rolling up their sleeves and establishing processes.

It's a broad ranging opportunity that'll require you to maintain full compliance with US, EU and UK tax laws, whilst minimising the company's liabilities.

Ideally you'll have a strong US and EU indirect tax background already (perhaps you're an indirect tax specialist?) but you're also capable of overseeing direct taxes.

Don't worry too much if you're not as competent in direct taxes as you'll be able to tap into external consultants, but it's important that you have some working experience of corporate tax and ideally transfer pricing.

In such a cross-functional role, strong business partnering experience is crucial. And you'll need to be technically solid so that you can represent tax across the business in the strongest sense.

About you

• Global indirect tax exposure across VAT / GST and sales tax
• You'll have sound knowledge of UK, EU and US federal, state, and local tax laws, especially as they relate to SaaS and technology companies.
• You'll be able to develop tax strategies in changing tax environments.
• You'll be highly detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
