Golf Course Greenskeeper

An exciting opportunity has become available at Felixstowe Ferry Golf Club.

We are looking to recruit a full-time permanent Greenkeeper to join our team. In this role, you will support the Course Manager and his Assistant in the maintenance and development of the Golf Course and facilities.

Felixstowe Ferry Golf Club is the only true links championship course in Suffolk and only one of 246 in the World. We are a members' golf club set on the Suffolk coast with over 140 years of golf behind us.

The role itself will consist of cutting tees, greens, surrounds and fairways, preparing and maintaining the Golf Course. You will also assist in winter projects with the team.

Working within a professional team, you will essentially be a person who is enthusiastic, committed to hard work and who sets and achieves the highest possible standards. You’ll be competent in equipment use and machinery operation.

You will be expected to work flexibly and be part of the rota to cover weekend requirements.

We require you to have:

- Ideally you will have at least 1-2 years' previous experience in a similar position. However, we would be willing to consider a newly qualified individual or someone looking for a career change, ready to accept re-training.

- NVQ level 2 in sports turf would be an advantage but not essential, although a willingness to learn is a must

- Attention to detail and a passion to achieve excellent results

- Team player

- Full clean driving licence

- Spraying qualifications PA1 and PA6 & Chainsaw qualifications are desirable but not essential

We are offering a competitive remuneration package commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience and ability.

The successful applicant is expected to be in place for Spring 2024.
