Governance Facilitator, Healthcare in Prison

The post holder will play a significant supporting role to the Governance Lead in delivering a high quality Clinical Governance and Risk Management service to the Healthcare in Prison team. He/she will be responsible for assisting in embedding a culture of learning and improvement through further development and management of governance processes and systems and challenging clinical/ operational teams to ensure that identified areas requiring improvement in relation to patient, staff and department safety issues are addressed. This will include, but is not limited to, adverse incident investigation, developing policies and processes, health and safety requirements, risk management, information governance, audits and production of accurate reports for internal and external bodies. The post holder will be required to liaise with other departments, staff, people in custody, the Northern Ireland Prison Service staff, and relatives/carers in order to fulfil governance functions. The post holder will also analyse information and produce reports from governance information systems, for learning and sharing with various internal/external parties including clinical / non-clinical staff. This will include complaints, incidents, risk management and other sensitive issues..

Live registration in a profession that provides direct health or social care to patients/clients i.e. Nursing, Social Work, Allied Health, Medicine, Pharmacy.

Post registration / post graduate personal development relevant to the post.

Minimum of 1 years experience in a specific governance, risk or service improvement post at Band 6 or above
