Governance professional (Clerk)Start Date: ASAPThe role: Cotham Garden Primary School wishes to appoint a well-organised, efficient Governance Professional to provide support and guidance to our trustees.The School: Cotham Gardens Primary School is a large, happy and vibrant 3-form entry primary school within a wonderfully diverse community. We are split over two sites and based within the Cotham area of Bristol city centre.Contract: This flexible, part-time role is term-time only and primarily home-based. The ability to work flexible hours is important, including attendance at evening meetings which may be held virtually or in school. Board and committee meetings usually take place on Wednesdays at 6pm.8 hours per week (with the possibility of additional hours by mutual agreement)

Grade BG8, Scale Point 12 to 16. Salary £26,873 to £28,770 pro-rataYour general responsibilities will include:
• Attending and minuting Board and committee meetings
• Working effectively with the Chair and Headteacher prior to each meeting to build the agenda
• Distributing papers within agreed timescales
• Advising the Board on procedural matters
• Preparing accurate minutes of meetings
• Recording decisions accurately and objectively with timescales for action
• Collating paperwork for the induction of new trustees
You will:
• Have good communication, IT and literacy skills
• Be well organised and able to take comprehensive and accurate minutes
• Have the capacity to work flexibly
• Be able to attend some daytime but mostly evening meetings
• Have the time to support the trustees outside of the meetings
• Maintain confidentiality
Previous clerking experience is desirable, along with knowledge of the education sector, although training and support will be provided.
