This is an exciting post that offers the opportunity to support the Council’s Democratic and decision-making processes, including the Council’s Overview and Scrutiny function. The role will also involve supporting the delivery of a training and development programme to Councillors and the administration of local ward budgets to deliver local initiatives and priorities.
We are looking for a candidate with good organisational and communication skills both written and verbal and well-developed inter-personal skills, as the post holder will be in regular contact with a wide range of officers and Councillors in a complex environment. The successful applicant will have a good understanding of how local government operates. Knowledge and understanding of Local Authority decision making is desirable and experience of preparing agendas and taking minutes is an essential part of the role. The role requires an individual with excellent IT skills who can operate in accordance with the Council’s agreed processes and procedures.
