A Structural Warranty Provider seeks a Graduate Building Surveyor to ensure that private rental properties in South Dublin comply with 2019 rental housing regulations and associated construction standards. The 2-year full-time temporary contract (with likelihood for extension) will require a degree related to Building Surveying / Architecture/ Structural Engineering. Up to €42,000 basic salary plus €5750 vehicle allowance, fuel allowance, healthcare.
Graduate Building Surveyor responsibilities
- Conduct compliance inspections of private rental properties, ensuring that properties meet Building Regulations and Housing (standards for rental houses) Regulations 2019, including investigating structural issues and rainwater ingress claims
- Compile inspection reports, including photographic evidence where required, whilst adhering to safeguarding policies
- Liaise with the client, the Administration team, and Landlords and Tenants as required
- Prioritise reporting serious breaches of Health and Safety to the Managing Surveyor/ Contracts Manager, and subsequently the client
- Follow-up inspections to ensure all non-compliance issues are resolved
- Ensuring targets set by the company and client are met
- Provide occasional cover in respect to conducting warranty risk assessments on new build properties; inspect developments throughout construction, liaising with builders on any technical issues or sub-standard/remedial works.
Graduate Building Surveyor requirements
Essential:
- Degree qualified Clerk of Works /Building Surveyor, Structural/Civil Engineer, or Architect / NFQ Level 8/EQF Level 6 / equivalent.
- Prior experience of surveying private residential properties (new-build or existing)
- Working knowledge of the current Building and Housing Regulations 2019 and other relevant housing regulations /standards
- Full driving licence
- Effective communicator
- Well organised
- Attention to detail
- IT literate
Training and mentoring provided to achieve registered Building Surveyor status if sought. All relevant equipment provided.
