Shape A Life are supporting a MAT in central Birminghamand they are seeking graduates to work as teaching assistants in their schools and play a vital role in shaping the minds of their learners.

This position is perfect for anyone with a degree and looking to start a career working with children or young adults.

We are looking for graduates who genuinely care about the well-being of young people, especially those with SEN and can show empathy and kindness in their approach. Starting ASAP, this term-time-only role has the potential to continue for the remainder of the 2023/24 academic year and potentially into the new academic year in September 2024. It offers an excellent salary of £90 - £100 per day.

You will need:

• Passion and enthusiasm to shape the next generation.
• An interest in teaching, health or social care or SEN.
• Degree - 2:2 or above. English, maths, science, psychology or a related subject
• Have high expectations of teaching and learning.
• Ability to relate well to pupils and adults.
• To have good communication skills
• To be confident, self-assured and happy.
• Be keen to develop as a professional

In this role, you’ll provide practical learning support to their learners under the guidance of the class teachers and college SENCo.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• 1:1 and small group pupil support under the direct supervision of teaching staff.
• Supporting independent learning and providing feedback to the teacher.
• Supporting the teacher with managing behaviour and keep pupils on task.
• Helping to create a positive and productive learning environment.
• Supporting pupils in social and emotional well-being.
• Ensuring all pupils feel valued and included in the classroom.
