This post represents an exciting opportunity for a recent STEM graduate to contribute to the development of analytical strategy and modelling capability within high performing financial analytics team.
The business is looking at exceptional level analytical graduates, who have excelled academically within Mathematical Sciences, Statistics, Operational Research or Economics (or equivalent). Any commercial experience through a placement year or postgraduate in a data/analytical driven post will be highly advantageous.
Responsibilities (once onboarded into the role):
- Utilise data analysis and data mining techniques to help the business measure profitability, risk propensities and price propositioning.
- Implementing and maintaining analytical models and reports to deliver on going and accurate insight.
- Apply Mathematical Modelling and Statistical analysis to segment customer groups accordingly.
- Contribute to highly analytical scenario modelling to drive gross margin performance.
- Support the business analytically on monthly performance reporting activities.
- Communicate complex MI to a non-statistical audience, present conclusions from analysis to enhance decision making with stakeholder.
Skills & Qualifications:
- STEM based degree qualification (2;1 or above from a leading University).
- Further MSc in related discipline advantageous (desirable).
- Exceptional attention to detail with analytical mind-set.
- Good knowledge and understanding of general statistical analysis and modelling techniques, e.g., Logistic and Linear Regression.
- Team player, evidence of working in a fast-paced team environment whilst also demonstrating high levels of initiative.
- Sound knowledge of MS Excel, demonstrating the ability to manage, manipulate, interrogate, and report on complex data.
- Further knowledge / experience of data analysis tools and technologies (i.e. VBA, SPSS, SAS, R, Python) - beneficial.

- £25,000 - £28,000 starting salary + benefits (profit related pay, pension, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, life assurance etc.).
