We currently have an opportunity for a Graduate Data Engineer to join our team based in Stockport, Preston or Borehamwood.
Our two-year development program has been designed to provide a diverse range of work experience and supported on-the-job learning alongside your mentor, coach, and line manager. Flexibility in the individual will be key to gaining experience from across the national business locations and departments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in building and maintaining robust data architectures, pipelines, and systems, tailored to support decision-making in the utilities construction industry and related sectors.
- Facilitate efficient data integration and management from multiple sources within the Group, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
- Aid in developing automated processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL), to streamline data workflows.
- Maintain awareness of industry developments, particularly in innovative areas like Utilities 2.0, and incorporate this knowledge into Data Engineering practices.
- Collaborate with different teams within the Group, addressing their Data Engineering needs and contributing to tailored solutions.
- Engage in comprehensive off-the-job training that includes theoretical instruction, practical training, and industry exposure.
- Offer support across various departments, contributing to diverse stages of project development and execution.
Skills and Experience:
- You will either graduate in 2024 or have just completed a suitable master's or bachelor’s in Data Engineering, or similar relevant degree with a minimum grade of 2:2.
- A genuine interest in Data Engineering and a commitment to ongoing learning in the field.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a systematic approach to technical challenges.
- A keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of data handling.
- Effective communication skills, facilitating collaboration and technical knowledge sharing.
- A team player mindset, contributing to and benefiting from collaborative efforts.
