Do you want to work for an up and coming aviation specialist?
This role is supporting the overall manufacturing and production process from design to product development working closely with client to find best solutions.
Ideally a graduate or grad with 1-3 years experience who has CAD / Design or manufacturing process experience from degree.
This role with support the design and development of new and existing products within the client's portfolio of products. Working with an extensive range of well-known global Airlines and OEM's, after design acceptance they focus on maintaining and controlling design and manufacturing data to ensure high levels of productivity, quality and compliance within our production system.
They will be required to liaise closely with Production to ensure new products are designed for manufacture (DFM) and assist with problem solving throughout the product's lifecycle.
This person is also a key member of the team in wider Kaizen activities and will work across departments working on focused improvement projects for the business delivering increases in efficiencies and performance.
Main Duties
• Design and development of new and existing products within the cabin.
• Assist drawing creation and modification for production processing.
• Support Production Planning Process to ensure correct design data is allocated.
• Investigating trends, irregularities or errors within production and design data
• Applying the understanding of manufacturing processes including sewing, CNC fabric cutting and developing technologies to ensure products are optimized for large scale production.
• Coordinate efforts during the prototyping stage with initial supplier and materials selection
• Produce detailed manufacturing instructions for production.
• Produce accurate BOM (Billl of Material) analysis on new products, ensuring yields, material requirements and costs are accurate.
• Digitize new patterns, including revision control ensuring accuracy at all times.
• Support the FAI (First Article Inspection) process, including accurate record keeping, and successful customer acceptance.
• Seek continuous improvement of products and processes and provide advice to production team.
Key Skills
• Qualifications in design and/or engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and BOM's.
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD
• Proficient Microsoft office skills.
