Job description

A utilities and fibre network contractor based in the Co. Tyrone area has a new opportunity for a Graduate/ Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join the team.

Duties will include the following:

Manage QS/Commercial Assistants as the project evolves in size

  • Responsible for evaluations of utilities civils contract as principle contractor
  • Collect and Review worksheets completed by sub-contractors & employees sent in on weekly basis.
  • Preparation and submission of weekly progress claims to client. Valuations to be agreed with

Client QS representative on a bi-weekly basis.

  • Support the preparation and submission of project variations, in line with contract timelines.
  • Review and sign off sub-contractor invoices to be passed to accounts for payment.
  • Preparation and submission of client Final Accounts.
  • Daily liaising with on field supervisors and site teams.
  • Role will involve site visits as and when required.
  • Assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
  • Provide commercial and contractual expertise to contracts, drafting & issuing correspondence.
  • Time Management important to the role. Project is of a fast-track nature, with weekly applications submitted to the client.
  • Meet project deliverables on time and with emphasis on quality.
  • Attending and providing commercial input to weekly internal meetings, with emphasis on budget monitoring.

You will have a minimum of one year's experience within a QS capacity.

Applications are also welcome from Surveyors with 4-5 years of experience.

Even though QS qualification is preferred, it is not essential.

You will also possess:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Organised, focused and able to meet deadlines
  • Strong IT skills, specifically including Excel
  • Full Driving License with access to car
