An exciting graduate opportunity has arisen within the District Council. The Training Programme will run for a period of two years from approximately September 2024.
- The overall aim of the two-year Graduate Legal Trainee programme is to enable post holders to learn about the services delivered by the District Council whilst developing knowledge and skills through hands on experience as well as completing PGDIP Applied Legal Knowledge and passing the Solicitors Qualifying Examinations (SQE). The cost of the training will be fully funded to include one round of the Solicitors Qualifying Examinations.
- The post holder will work under supervision and guidance to develop skills to assist and support the legal team in providing timely legal advice and services to the District Council’s officers and members, in respect of all aspects of Council functions.
- At the end of the two-year training programme, it is anticipated that the Graduate Legal Trainee will become a qualified solicitor, become employment ready and will be given the opportunity to apply for available permanent employment opportunities within the District Council.
