Graduate Managment Trainee (Business Analyst)

Salary: £27,803 - £31,364 (Grade 5)

Hours: 37

Contract type: Full time, 24 Months Fixed Term Contract

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Graduate Management Trainee at the West Midlands Pension Fund

The Fund is one of the UK’s largest pension funds providing, from its ‘state of the art’ new building at i9 in Wolverhampton, local authority pension benefits for employees across the West Midlands. The Fund manages and administers the pension interests of over 330,000 scheme members, 800+ employers and currently has c.£20 billion in assets under management.

We are now seeking a highly talented graduate to join the Fund on a two-year graduate scheme within our Projects Team. This will provide you with a fantastic opportunity to develop a career within the West Midlands Pension Fund whilst undertaking a relevant qualification as part of your programme.

Responsibilities include:

  • To provide dedicated support in the delivery of the Fund and Service area priorities, implementing agreed objectives, performance monitoring, reviewing and reporting progress and ensuring all timescales are adhered to.
  • To develop, design and implement projects and support programmes, including budget management.
  • To provide technical support to the employing Service to deliver key outcomes identified in their Service Plans
  • To assist in the preparation and delivery of policy and strategic documents, including design, development and commissioning.
  • To assist with the formulation and drafting of effective policies, proposals and plans in support of the Fund’s strategic objectives.

You will be provided with a comprehensive training programme and enrolled onto a qualification linked to Investments.

The successful candidates will hold a degree in a relevant discipline and have the right to work in the UK. If shortlisted you will be required to attend an assessment centre.

Our working arrangements

All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style. Some roles are agile which enable and empowers employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance. Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location. Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocation where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for 'touch down' space at any council location. Roles with a flexible workstyle have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.
