Candidates should be able to demonstrate:
A degree in material science and engineering with focus on metallic material is essential
A master degree in welding engineering would be advantagous
Some work expereince or a postgraduate qualification in Material Engineering would be advantageous.
A theoretical background in ferrous alloys and corrosion resistance alloys (CRA)
Understanding of chemical and mechanical properties as well as manufacturing processes in relation to alloys used in offshore / subsea applications
Excellent interpersonal skills
The ability to communicate clearly and with purpose
