Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer

Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading turnkey engineering contractor, designing, installing, operating and maintaining environmentally friendly energy generating systems and networks, to recruit a Graduate Mechanical Designer for its Lancashire based office.
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role comes with a salary of up to 30,000 DOE, 33 days holiday + Bank Holiday's and flexible working.

Responsibilities and duties

• Support the Design Engineers on a variety of projects, developing technical specifications and drawings.
• Compile and produce design documentation for bespoke projects in line with legislation and client specification.
• Gain experience in the design of mechanical systems within energy centres, distributed networks and points of heat use.
• Use CAD software to produce technical drawings.
• Gain an understanding of CDM regulations.
• Maintain highest levels of health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Develop good relations with colleagues, project teams and installers.
• Liaise with clients.
• Support input of technical data following company processes and legislation.
• Prepare HAZOP studies.

Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

• MEng Degree qualification in Mechanical, Building Services or related engineering course.
• Understands the professional development process and sets challenging goals to meet them through continuous learning.

The Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer role would suit someone who is:

• Able to demonstrate a positive attitude, motivation and commitment to deliver projects.
• Able to analyse information efficiently
• High levels of organisation and time management skills
• Willingness to travel to different sites when needed
