The Role:

Working as part of a team of Plant Certification Engineering experts, the successful graduate will have the opportunity to develop their career to the next level, whilst working with some of the leading names in the railway industry.


You will be involved if a variety of exciting projects and support on Plant Assessment Body (PAB) and Independent Competent Person (ICP) Plant Certification projects. These projects are primarily On Track Plant and On Track Machines. You may also be required to work on other certification projects.


Essential Skills/Knowledge:

The following attributes are considered essential for the role:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
  • Ability to accurately follow defined procedures.
  • Understanding of the principles of compliance.
  • Understanding of the principles of mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
  • A structured approach to completing tasks.
  • Ability to demonstrate continued professional development.
  • Understanding of the principles of engineering risk management.
  • Full UK drivers’ licence.


Desirable Skills/Knowledge:

The following attributes are considered desirable for the role:

  • Ability to manage clients within a range of circumstances.
  • Experience of compliance management.
  • Experience of plant engineering.
  • Experience of railway engineering.
  • Experience of European standards.
  • Understanding of the legislative requirements for placing products onto the market.
  • Registered with a professional institution licensed by the Engineering Council.
