Job description - Graduate Software Engineer (Manchester)
In this Engineering role in Manchester, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing their existing products: a mobile app built in React Native and a backend portal built in Laravel Livewire. You will work closely with their experienced development team to contribute to the entire software development lifecycle and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.
Key responsibilities - Graduate Software Engineer (Manchester)
In this Graduate Software Engineer role, your responsibilities will include:
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand requirements for
new features and improvements
* Assist in the maintenance and enhancement of their mobile app, implementing new
features and optimising performance
* Contribute to the development of their backend portal, built in Laravel Livewire
* Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code that aligns with coding standards
and best practices
* Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to
maintain code quality
* Troubleshoot and debug issues across the stack, ensuring smooth functionality of
both products
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to
suggest innovative solutions
Job requirements - Graduate Software Engineer (Manchester)
* At least 1 year's experience in relevant industry
* Highly motivated individual, a self-starter
* Competent knowledge of JavaScript and React (Native preferred)
* Basic understanding of PHP for backend development
* Familiarity with version control using Git and collaborative development workflows
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug and resolve complex technical
issues
* Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools as the project evolves
* Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively within a
team
* Able to work in the Manchester office every day
