About The Role
We are seeking to appoint Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs) who will contribute to teaching and assessment. This is a 4 year appointment, you will be employed by the University for 25% of your time, with 75% being allocated to completing your PhD. The employment contract will be issued for 3 years and 4 months, the final 4 months will be 100% PhD studentship to ensure completion.
Teaching contribution will be predominantly for undergraduate programmes in Biomedical Sciences including Applied Medical Sciences, Biochemistry, Medical Pharmacology and Genetics (https://www.swansea.ac.uk/undergraduate/courses/medicine/) with some support for postgraduate degrees in biomedical science (https://www.swansea.ac.uk/medicine-health-life-science/international/biomedical-sciences/). GTAs will be supported to apply for Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Authority. The postholder will also enrol for a PhD undertaking research aligned to existing research activity within the Medical School (https://www.swansea.ac.uk/medicine/research/) with the topics on offer for this current call listed in the accompanying job description.
